National Board Dental Examination:
It’s a series of examination organized by the Joint Commission on National Dental Examinations “JCNDE” to get the license to be a dentist in the USA and Canada.


Eligibility:
Any student or graduate from Accredited U.S./Canadian Dental School, in case of those from Nonaccredited Dental School they can apply too but they have to verify their certificate and documents and they will be eligible to apply for the exams after wards
To be able to apply you will get a DENTPIN number after the JCNDE verify your documents


Part 1:
The NBDE Part I is a comprehensive examination consisting of 400 exam items. The exam has 2 main forms for questions, approximately 80% of which are stand-alone, while about 20% are interdisciplinary testlet-based. A testlet consists of a patient scenario, patient history, and a set of discipline based questions relevant to the scenario. NBDE Part I items are drawn from the following disciplines:
• Anatomic Sciences
• Biochemistry-Physiology
• Microbiology-Pathology
• Dental Anatomy and Occlusion
The exam is held in many centers in USA and Canada
The fees are 395 USD plus 135 USD for Nonaccredited Dental School graduates and students


Part 2:
The NBDE Part 2 is a comprehensive examination consisting of 500 exam items. The exam has 2 main forms for questions, approximately 80% of which are stand-alone, while about 20% are interdisciplinary testlet-based. A testlet consists of a patient scenario, patient history, and a set of discipline based questions relevant to the scenario.
NBDE Part 2 items are drawn from the following disciplines:


Discipline-Based Component:
• Endodontics
• Operative Dentistry
• Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery/ Pain Control
• Oral Diagnosis
• Orthodontics/Pediatric Dentistry
• Patient Management
• Periodontics
• Pharmacology
• Prosthodontics


Case-Based Component:
The cases are developed to include the following distribution: adult patients (70%), child patients (30%). A minimum of 15% the questions will address the medical management of compromised adults and children
Each case consists of:
• Synopsis of a patient's health and social histories,
• Patient dental charting,
• Diagnostic radiographs
• Clinical photographs of the patient (when necessary)

The exam is held in many centers in USA and Canada
The fees are 440 USD plus 135 USD for Nonaccredited Dental School graduates and students
